2007 N.A.A.F Conference
June 28, 2007 through July 1, 2007

2007 NAAF Coference
The 22nd Annual NAAF International Conference (2007) was a giant success this year with record attendance and everyone had a great time! The conference was held at the Crystal City Hyatt Regency Hotel from June 28, 2007 through July 1,2007.

Lucinda Goes to Washington!
Just before this years 2007 NAAF International Conference in Virginia Lucinda made a side trip to Washington DC to let her voice be heard.  Lucinda was one of twelve representing Connecticut and visited Liberman’s office to help support the registry funding and research for Alopecia and the insurance reimbursement for Alopetia patients.

Charlie Villanueva

Last year the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) introduced Charlie Villanueva as their Spokesperson, and cheered him on as he toured the country as a member of the Toronto Raptors NBA team. For those who may be new to this all, Charlie Villanueva in an NBA Player who was first affected with alopecia areata at the age of ten. Now 22, Charlie has alopecia universalis, and wants to use his place in the spotlight to educate the general public on alopecia areata, provide children with a role model and get the word out that individuals with alopecia areata aren’t only extremely healthy, but talented, too!

A Very Happy Boy!

Though Charlie was traded this summer and is now a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, neither his motivation nor his mission has wavered. We are very excited about the energy behind the Milwaukee Bucks organization and looking forward to developing fresh ideas to educate even more individuals about alopecia areata, and provide even more children with such a notable role model.

Two programs that we are going to continue this year are the Charlie’s Angels Road Game Program and the Meet & Greets in select cities. The main objective is the same in both of these programs; to support Charlie as he supports us.

We had fun and we learned and we smiled a lot.  Amy Gibson founder of Amy's Presence donated a wig and Lucinda aireated and prepped it for Melinda-a wonderful young lady with a tremendous sparkle.
