Treatment
for alopecia Areata remains elusive and incomplete,
despite extensive research in the area. No permanent
therapy has as yet emerged nor is there total remission
of the disease. There are some typical treatments
done that are worth giving a try. Steroid Injection
typically, a steroid solution of 0.1ml of triamcinolone
acetomide is injected just below the epidermis with
30 gauges ½ inch or 1 inch needle and a 1ml
tuberculine syringe, into the site. Several injections
are made to cover the affected areas. The drug removes
the confused immune cells so that the hair can grow
again. If you are not too fond of needles you may
also try this same type of treatment in a topical
form, which is equally effective. If your follicle
still remains there is possibility to regrow your
hair with low light laser therapy. The cold wave laser
will stimulate the scalp increasing micro-circulation
of blood supply to the hair follicle. Hair follicles
which are “dormant” but not dead may be
revived. You can find out if your hair follicles are
in fact living with a scalp analysis.
